Accademia Italian della Cucina Dinner at Beccofino


When the Brisbane branch of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina (Italian Academy of Cuisine) meets, one thing is for certain - nobody goes home hungry. The academy reviews local Italian restaurants, providing information to the organisation's headquarters in Italy for inclusion in its monthly publication. At the first dinner for 2011 the Beccofino chefs impressed academy members with a menu that included melt-in-your-mouth fried baby calamari and one of the popular eatery's specialty dishes, a delectable duck and ragu pasta.

Hosted by Alessandro Sorbello, producer of Queensland's annual Italian Week, guests included TV producer Carole Horne, Italian social starlet Federica Odorisio and Elio Marzullo of Elio Moda.
